GOES-16 Visible (CONUS vs Meso)

While waiting for convection in MPX's domain, did notice an advantage of the higher temporal resolution of the MESO domain.  In this case, I've zoomed in on the CU field in Beadle County SD.  In the CONUS loop below, you can see the development of the CU.


While it provides good information, looking at the MESO domain loop in the next image highlights an interesting feature from the CU field. Over Beadle County, you can see a couple towers go up and then become orphaned and dissipating as the drift to the east. Definitely a sign that the area is getting closer to initiation.
