A quick note that a splitting storm (the northern most cell in the .gif) was captured by super rapid scan. At first look on the radar data, there was an appendage that started to look like a hook, even though it was on the northwest side of the storm. A quick look at 1 minute imagery showed the cell splitting off and heading northward. Knowing the environment it was likely that this was a splitting storm but in more questionable environments this could be a useful tool to clarify some questionable radar signatures.
