NWS Wilmington had a strong t-storm statement for the storm crossing into Ohio. The severe probabilities had increased rapidly, and in the text it stated:
Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning...
The GLM did not match at the time of the statement being issued. But then rapidly increased a couple minutes after. So there was a little discrepancy and if you went by the GLM only, it did not look impressive for a strong storm or statement. The storm is entering into a more impressive environment. Possibly continuing to strengthen. And if so, could become severe quickly based on the trends.
