May 8 Evaluation of Test Products in AWIPS2

CI product showing the scarcity of the likelihood of newly-formed storms in central IA in the near future
CI product showing the more unstable environment in SD, indictaed by several isolated storms showing high lightning rates and high dBZ cores
ProbSevere model showing increased probabilities (30-40%) of storms becoming severe in SD
ProbSevere doing a good job at helping locate storms of interest for further investigation in addition with spatial extent of GLM FED

GLM total energy looks to better identify storms with higher ProbSevere hail potential (top right panel, storms in SD).  However, GLM FED does not correlate to total energy, in fact, the storm in northwest IA exhibits a larger FED, but lower flash energy than the storms in SD.  In fact, the ProbSevere wind potential is the main threat for this storm.  I.e., differentiation between flash energy, flash rate, and hail/wind threats.
