Satellite Rapid Scan Operations is beginning to show a few towering cumulus forming along a weak frontal zone that extends from near Davenport, IA to Genoa City, WI. Low level shear and stability is knocking down most convection, but CAPE values are increasing from the southwest and are forecast to increase further over the next 2 hours by SPC mesoanalysis. Surface based lifted indices are now -8 near the brief cell over Western Illinois.
